Clearing Land in West Georgia
Land around here grows back fast. Pine and sweetgum seed in on any open ground, privet and kudzu fill in fence lines and old fields, and a property left alone for a few years can turn into a thicket. Much of the land for sale in the area is old farmland or timber cutover, which means stumps, slash and dense regrowth under the surface.
The red clay underneath matters too. Clearing strips the cover that holds clay in place, so we plan each clearing job with the next step in mind: how the ground will drain, where runoff will go, and whether the site needs grading before the next heavy rain.
Land Clearing Services We Provide
Residential Lot Clearing
Clearing a lot for a new home, a shop or a backyard expansion. We remove the trees and brush in the work area and can leave the ones you want to keep.
New Construction Site Preparation
Full clearing for homes, subdivisions and commercial projects, including stump removal so the site is ready for grading, building pads and driveways.
Pasture and Farmland Reclamation
Opening up overgrown fields and fence lines so the land can be grazed, planted or mowed again.
Storm Debris Cleanup
Downed trees and scattered debris after storms and high wind. We clear the damage and get the property usable again.
“Brody and his crew were a huge help cleaning out the trees and debris scattered through our yard after a recent hurricane. They were prompt, polite and very reasonably priced.”
— Melissa Nemer, Google review
Tree Removal and Stump Grinding
Removing individual trees, grinding stumps, and dropping limbs that hang over homes, driveways and power lines.
“They remove trees for me. Stump ground for me. Drop limbs off of my trees around electrical poles and have never had a problem with this company.”
— Google review
Selective Clearing
Not every property needs to be stripped bare. We can thin out underbrush and small trees while keeping the hardwoods and shade trees that give a property its value.
How a Land Clearing Project Works
- Site walk. We look at the property with you, mark what stays and what goes, and note slopes, wet areas, property lines and access.
- Plan and quote. We set the scope: full clearing or selective, stumps removed or ground, and how debris will be handled.
- Clearing. Trees come down and brush is removed with excavators, dozers and skid steers.
- Stump removal. Stumps are pulled or ground, depending on what the land will be used for. Building sites need stumps out. Pasture can often be ground.
- Debris handling. Depending on the property, material is hauled off, burned under permit, or ground on-site.
- Rough grade and cleanup. We leave the site smooth and ready for grading, building or seeding.
A small residential lot can often be cleared in a few days. Multi-acre jobs take longer depending on how dense the growth is and how much debris has to be dealt with.
What Affects the Cost of Land Clearing
Land clearing cost is one of the most common questions we get, and the honest answer is that it depends on what is on the land. These are the main factors:
- Acreage to be cleared.
- Density and size of the trees. Light brush clears far faster than mature hardwoods.
- Stumps. Pulling and removing stumps costs more than grinding them, but building sites usually require it.
- Debris disposal. Hauling off, burning or grinding all have different costs.
- Terrain and ground conditions. Steep slopes, creeks and wet ground slow the work.
- Access for equipment and trucks.
- Finish level. A build-ready, graded site costs more than a rough clear.
We walk the property and give you a clear, free quote before any work starts.
Land Clearing vs. Forestry Mulching
Land clearing removes everything, stumps and roots included, and is the right call for building sites, driveways and anything that needs grading. Forestry mulching grinds brush and small trees into a mulch layer in place and leaves the roots, which makes it faster and cheaper for trails, fence lines, hunting land and overgrown acreage. If you’re not sure which you need, we’ll tell you after seeing the property.
